About

"For me, being a health coach is
a calling. I am passionate about what I do."

I was on the path of illness: obese, very stressed, working long hours, not exercising, on metformin for diabetes and statins for cholesterol, with lots of collateral damages related to that situation.  Needless to say that I was eating/drinking to fulfill my stomach and cravings and trying to reduce my anxiety.

I knew I had to do something! I was in that contemplation stage since years. Until one day. I took that decision to change everything.  The one that worked for me, not the one that I 'shoulda/woulda/coulda' and getting the fear with me and 'peppered' it with bravery, determination and hope!  I already knew what giving up is, I wanted to know what will happen if I don't!

And I did it! The way it'll work for me. With experts, I lost 21kg ( 47 pounds), get off medications, changed how/what to eat. These changes opened my mind to go deeper on that knowledge.  I discovered a world that was invisible for me until then.   By listening to every summits on line and health docu-series possible, with over 150 experts, writing over 100 pages of notes and put my love of learning up to a point that I had to do something with all this information.  I wanted to help others, to increase their awareness, to give them the time to listen and encourage their reflections and their empowerment.  I choose to become a student at the FMCA and got certified as a Health Coach in Functional Medicine.

Here I am.  Ready to help you with your motivations, with a personalized, supportive, confidential 1-on-1 health coaching with the functional medicine approach.  With tiny steps, everything is possible.  Tell me...... what will happen, if you do?

"Being a health coach is
a calling. I am passionate about what I do."

I was on the path of illness: obese, very stressed, working long hours, not exercising, on metformin for diabetes and statins for cholesterol, and experiencing lots of collateral damage related to that situation. Needless to say, I was eating/drinking to satisfy my stomach, fulfill my cravings and reduce my anxiety.

Knowing that my father died at 34 years old from a heart attack, and my mother – a very determined and independent person – had dementia in her later years, I had to question myself. Where was I headed if I carried on with this lifestyle?

I knew I had to do something! I had been in that ''contemplation'' stage for years. Until one day. I made the decision to turn everything around. The decision that truly worked for me, and not the one that others thought I should make. I used the fear and 'peppered' it with bravery, determination and hope! I already knew what giving up was like, I wanted to know what would happen if I didn’t!

"I’m on a mission to provide you with quality tips and simple ideas because you care about yourself!"

And I did it! The way that worked for me. With the help of experts, I lost 21kg (47 pounds), got off medications, changed how/what I ate and started doing strength training. These changes opened my mind up to delve deeper into this knowledge. I discovered a world that was invisible to me until then. After listening to every available online summit and health docu-series, gathering data from over 150 experts and writing over 100 pages of notes, I reached a point where I had to do something with all this information. Due to my scientific background, I was astonished by the possibilities and clearly understood the potential impacts on the body.

I wanted to help others, increase their awareness, give them time to listen and encourage their reflection and their empowerment regarding their health. I chose to become a student at the FMCA and got certified as a Functional Medicine Health Coach. Few months later, I became certified in ReCODE, the Bredesen protocol.

And now here I am.  Ready to help you with your motivation, with a personalized, supportive and confidential one-on-one health coaching system that utilizes the functional medicine approach. Or by giving presentations to groups who are interested in specific subjects like: supporting detoxification, reducing cognitive decline or endocrine disruptors, to name a few.

''With tiny steps, anything is possible''

That’s why I founded hygia.ca

Hygeia - in Latin Hygia – is a Greek goddess/personification of health that is associated with the prevention of sickness and the continuation of good health. Everyone in Hygia's family has a function that is related to health, cures and healing processes. The etymology of the word hygiene comes from Hygia and relates to a healthy lifestyle or way of life.. (reference: http://www.maicar.com/GML/Hygia.html)

Dr. Joe Pizzorno, ND, and Editor in Chief of the Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal, wrote in the February 2018 edition that: “Hygeia was about the promotion of health and wellness in the patient. Hygeia gets closest to my definition of natural medicine as the promotion of health and reversal of disease through the support of the body’s innate healing powers.”
